About Oumar Sèye

Oumar Sèye is the President of the African Surfing Confederation, elected in 2023. He is a Senegalese professionnal surfer and pioneer with decades of experience and international recognition. He is considered one of Africa's most respected surf experts and coaches.
Oumar brings a unique perspective combining African surf culture, international leadership experience and deep knowledge of waves. His coaching methodology is personalized and focuses on both technical improvement and personnal understanding of the surfer's needs.
Oumar is fluent in French, English and Wolof (Senegalese). Sessions can be conducted in your preferred language.

Coaching Services

You submit up to 1 minute of surf footage (approximately 5 waves). Oumar analyzes your technique, positioning and wave selection, then provides detailed written and illustratedfeedback with specific improvement recommendations and training exercises. You'll receive your analysis within 48-72 hours.
The 30-minute live session includes real-time video analysis, personal discussion about your goals and immediate feedback. Oumar will review your videos with you, explain techniques and create a customized training plan.
Videos should be clear enough to see your surfing technique. Phone footage is acceptable if stable and well-lit. We recommend having someone film from the beach or using a waterproof action camera. Multiple angles are helpful but not required.
Absolutely! Many students benefit from regular coaching. You can book follow-up sessions at any time and Oumar will track your progress between sessions.

Senegal Training

The one-week intensive includes daily surf coaching, wave knowledge specific to Senegalese breaks, cultural immersion and personalized training. Accommodation on the spots and meal arrangements are also included. This is perfect for serious surfers wanting to experience African surf culture and improve their surfing.
The best surf season in Senegal is typically from October to April, with consistent swells and favorable wind conditions. However, Dakar being a peninsula exposed to the Atlantic Ocean in many directions, most swells are working and surf is good all year round. Oumar will advise on the optimal timing based on your level, goals and availability.
No, the training can be conducted in English. However, some basic French phrases might enhance your cultural experience in Senegal.

Booking & Payment

Start by completing the assessment form to help Oumar understand your needs. Then choose your preferred coaching option and you'll be guided through the booking process.
We accept major credit cards, PayPal and bank transfers through Stripe. Payment is required to secure your booking.
Live sessions can be rescheduled up to 24 hours in advance. Video analysis sessions can't be cancelled once paid for.
Yes! Group sessions can be arranged for surf schools, clubs or friends wanting to learn together. Contact us for group pricing and availability.
